Your brand on Pinterest?

Do you know Pinterest? A question a lot of people can reply affirmative. How can I or my brand use it? A question mostly pre-rolling a moment of silence.

Pinterest flowchart
Above you’ll find an interesting flowchart (source: SocialMedia.nl) giving you the opportunity to – step by step – let you come up with an answer to the title question. Of course Pinterest is far from being as humongous as Facebook (6,5 mln active members in the Netherlands), but in May the Netherlands already had 200.000 monthly visitors, coming from only around 50.000 Dutch Pinners in March (source: Marketingfacts).

Picture Power!
Furthermore, image can be (a lot more) powerful (than words), also to increase conversation, sharebility and likebility. Of course Facebook can be used for that as well, but Pinterest is sort of the most pure and well done social medium for it. And especially for the people from Holland: success in the US often heralds succes in our country.

TopTip: Join!
What usually works best to really understand a specific media is of course to start working with it; despite everybody’s consistent lack of time. First step: Sign Up; and don’t let the fact you have to wait for a couple of days for acceptance get in your way. In the meantime, if you want to learn more, register for our Pinterest-workshop (next one is on July 5th).

Pinner of the week – Tracey Chan

Pinner of the Week - Tracey Chan

It’s friday again. Almost weekend & time for the ‘Pinner of the Week‘! I was lucky to bump into the pins of this girl some days ago. She is a real pin-o-holic (over 13000 pins and counting). She pins the most cute, funny and original stuff. She is a happy person, at least she makes her followers happy with her funny pins!

Tracey Chan
Meet Tracey Chan! From the sunny islands of  Trinidad and Tobago, she pins and pins and pins. Oh, she is an artist, writer and photographer too. A creative girl indeed! More about her here. I laughed out loud at some pins. Her boards ‘Spirit‘ (this one, not surprisingly has over 105240 followers) and ‘Squee‘ ~ as she describes it herself as really cute crap ~ make you smile. I am a big fan of the colors mint green and turquoise, so her board ‘Squealy Tealy‘, with all things teal, aqua, mint and blue made my heart skip a beat (almost). Original is the board full of awesome things. The board ‘Yogariffic‘ makes me feel lazy and stiff. Nonetheless, the board ‘Love‘ makes me smile again :) .

Thank you, Tracey! Keep up the happy pins. Tracey is on Twitter too!

PinneroftheWeek6

As we are preparing the next (in Dutch) Pinterest & Brands workshop that is planned on the 10th of may (the first one was a big success), the search for cool pinners continues…

The First Pinterest & Brands Workshop @IN10

Pinterest Workshop @ IN10

Last thursday, on the 19th of April, the first Pinterest & Brands workshop at IN10 took place. This is an initiative by Sanne Walvisch (Digital Strategist) and Vincent Luyendijk (Managing Director IN10). It was a big success: Sanne Walvisch has, thanks to her experience and her personal interest in this social media platform, given the attendees a lot of information on the following Pinterest related subjects during this workshop:

  • Introduction: What is Pinterest?
  • Target group: Is it a woman’s world?
  • Where do I start?
  • What can I do as a brand on Pinterest?

Aside from this, we dove deeper into the following possibilities that Pinterest gives us:

  • Market research tool
  • Call to action mechanism
  • Brainstorm tool
  • Engagement with target groups and influencers
  • Product development
  • Inspiration tool

Interactive
The workshop was very interactive; every attendee was able to ask specific questions about the use of Pinterest and their business or brand. The reviews and feedback on the workshop are all very postive.

Follow up
The next Pinterest & Brands workshop (the same one, with a brainstorm session included) will be on the 10th of May. More about that here. Are you interested? Please send an e-mail to pinterest@in10.nl. The workshop will be held in Dutch, but are you interested in an English version? Do contact us, we will see what we can do for you.

Pinner of the Week – Monique vd Vlist

Pinner of the week 5 - Monique van der Vlist

Yesterday the first Pinterest & Brands workshop took place at IN10. More about that later. Now, it’s time for the pinner of the week!

Monique vd Vlist
This week, inspired by the Sanoma Media Parade and the presentation of Monique van der Vlist (art director of ‘101 woonideeen‘ / ’101 ideas for the home’) we chose her to be the pinner of the week. Her account Vlinspiratie / Monique vd Vlist deserves this spot because of these awesome boards: USA instant vacation feeling, Logo&Brands, Illustration and the handy Vli’s Pinterest Presentation board.

Find her on Twitter.
